Listening on the BN.com Web Player
Audiobooks can be streamed directly from your BN.com Digital Library on computers, tablets, or smartphones by signing in at https://nook.barnesandnoble.com/my_library/ and clicking the Play button on an audiobook's image. The web player is streaming only, so an internet connection is required to listen to B&N Audiobooks.
The audiobook web player opens upon clicking the Play button. The screen can be minimized and continues to run in the background when other computer screens are open.
Listening on a NOOK Device or Barnes & Noble NOOK App
Streaming Audiobooks is not supported on NOOK Devices or the Barnes & Noble NOOK App, so you will have to download the file to your device before listening. However, this does allow you to listen to your audiobooks without an internet connection, which can be helpful in places where no wireless network is available.
Since Audiobook files can be quite large and potentially take up a significant amount of space on your device, you have the option to download the book in parts, which will allow you to download sections of the Audiobook rather than the full file. This setting is available in the Download & Storage section of the Settings menu on your NOOK App.
The Audiobook player opens once you tap on an Audiobook’s cover image. The first time you listen to an audiobook, a series of pop-up windows will introduce you to the available features in the player and provide basic navigation instructions.
