To update the account settings on your bn.com account, go to your Account Settings page.
Click here to access Account Settings. You may be prompted to sign in to your account. On this page you can view/manage/update:
- Account Name
- Email Address
- Phone Number
- Content Settings
To edit any of these fields:
1. Click the Edit button in the corresponding row
2. Enter the updated information
3. Click Save Changes
Please note: Any time changes are made to your bn.com account, we will send an email confirming that the changes have been made.
IMPORTANT: Changing your bn.com Email Address
Changing your email address on bn.com does NOT automatically change your registered email address on your NOOK Device or App. It will update the email address associated with the NOOK account.
To ensure that you maintain access to all of your NOOK Content:
1. Unregister any and all NOOK devices, as well as any Barnes & Noble NOOK Apps, from your original email address
2. Update your email address on bn.com by following the steps listed above
3. Register your NOOK devices and apps again, this time using the updated email address.
Following these steps will ensure that you do not lose any of your eBooks or other purchased content. You will not be able to unregister your NOOK if you do not first change the email address on bn.com.
If you have changed your email address on bn.com before unregistering your NOOK, change the email address on bn.com back to the email address to which your NOOK is registered, then follow the steps listed above.
If you update the email address on your bn.com account, the following changes will occur:
- Your saved credit cards will be removed from your old account to ensure security
- Your Order History will only show orders placed with the current email address on the account.
- To review orders placed with your old email address, log in to bn.com using your account’s old email address to access the order history in that account.
- You will need to re-add any Saved Gift Cards after you change your account’s email address.
- Changing a bn.com account's email address will automatically change the linked NOOK account's email address.
- Unregister any NOOK devices/apps registered with the old email address before making the change, then re-register after the email address is updated.
- Any digital eBooks, Audiobooks and saved Wish Lists will remain in the account when the email address is changed.
Changing Your Account Phone Number
When you update the phone number in your account, all saved payment methods (except Gift Cards) are removed from the account. This is done to protect the privacy and security of your account.
