NOOK Simple Touch - Shelves – Barnes & Noble

Bookshelves on NOOK Simple Touch can be helpful in organizing your NOOK Library. With this feature you can label shelves and organize your Books by favorites, authors, whatever you choose.

eBooks are not limited to being on one shelf. You can add the same eBook to multiple shelves.

This article shows you steps on how to create/remove bookshelves and add/remove eBooks to/from shelves on NOOK Simple Touch.

Creating a New Shelf and Adding Books

1. Press the Quick Nav button to access the Quick Nav Bar and then tap the Library icon.

2. Tap the Category Menu on the top right of the Library page and select Shelves from the drop-down list.

3. Tap the Add Shelf button.

4. Using your NOOK's keyboard, enter a shelf name and then tap Save. Your NOOK will now display a list of all the items in your Library.

5. After you have saved your new shelf's name you will be brought to a list of all the items in your Library.

6. Tap the title or titles you would like to add to the shelf. Once selected, a check mark will appear next to the title.

If you would like to remove a title that is already selected, tap the title again to remove the check mark next to it.

7. Tap Save when you are finished. Your NOOK creates the shelf and returns you to the main My Shelves screen, which displays all your shelves.

Modifying an Existing Shelf

1. Open the My Shelves screen by accessing your Library and selecting Shelves from the Category Menu.

2. Tap Edit next to the shelf you would like to modify.

3. From the Shelf page you can add or remove titles to/from your shelf, rename your shelf, or delete your shelf.

a. To add or remove titles:

Tap the title or titles you would like to add to your shelf. Once selected, a check mark will appear next to it.
If you would like to remove a title that is already selected, tap the title again to remove the check mark next to it.
When you are finished tap Save.

b. To rename your shelf:

Tap the Rename button at the bottom of your screen.

Using the touch keyboard, enter in a new name for your shelf and then tap Save.

When you return to the Shelf page tap Save again.

c. To delete your shelf:

Tap the Delete Shelf button at the bottom of your screen.

When the dialog box appears tap OK to confirm your selection.

Note: Shelves can only hold up to 100 titles. To shelve more than 100 items, you will need to create additional shelves.
