IMPORTANT NOTE: As of 11/29/2023, the NOOK for Windows App is no longer available for new downloads from the Microsoft Store. Do not uninstall the NOOK for Windows App, as it will not be available for downloading again.
Existing customers can continue to use the app as usual, with all previous NOOK content accessible in their NOOK Library. Our suite of NOOK Reading Apps for Android and iOS devices, as well as NOOK for Web, which allows reading online, are available for both existing and new NOOK users.

Barnes & Noble NOOK App for Windows Troubleshooting
First, confirm that the latest version of the Barnes & Noble NOOK App for Windows is installed on your device. Most issues can be resolved by updating to the app and device software to the latest versions. For more information about NOOK for Windows software, click here.
If your software is up to date, try the troubleshooting steps below to resolve the issue. The below can be applied to the NOOK for Windows app on Laptop, Computer, or Tablet device.
Check your current settings:
• An antivirus program may be preventing the app from running.
• If your PC is part of a network at an organization, such as a school, government agency, or business, your system administrator might have turned off the use of certain apps using Group Policy. If you think that Group Policy is preventing you from using an app you need, contact your system administrator.
• By default, some apps are blocked by Windows Firewall to help make your PC more secure. To work properly, you may need to allow the app to receive info through the firewall.
If the scrollbar is not available in the NOOK Library or while reading:
1. Access All Settings > System > Display.
2. Change the scale to 100% in the "Change size of text, apps..." option. If the scale is already at 100%, then please refer to the Tablet instructions.
3. Choose Apply, and then sign out when prompted to do so.
4. Sign back in and open the NOOK app.
If the entire page is not displaying in the app or while reading:
1. Access All Settings > System > Display.
2. Change the scale to 125% in the "Change size of text, apps..." option.
3. Choose Apply, and then sign out when prompted to do so.
4. Sign back in, and then once again access All Settings > System > Display.
5. This time, change the scale to 100% in the "Change size of text, apps..." option.
6. Choose Apply, and then sign out when prompted to do so.
7. Sign in again and open the NOOK app.
If you're having issues viewing your NOOK Library or downloading eBooks:
1. Sign out of your NOOK account in the NOOK for Windows app. For instructions on how to sign out of your NOOK for Windows account, click here.
2. After successfully signing out of your NOOK account, reopen the app and sign back in on the device that has been upgraded to Windows 10. For more information about updating to Windows 10, click here.
