Digital Rights Management (DRM) is used to ensure that a specific copy of an eBook is owned by one owner, and is not just given away. This ensures that copyright laws are respected and that authors and publishers are fairly compensated.
DRM means that when you buy an eBook from your NOOK or from BN.com, you own that copy forever, unless you delete it from your online digital library. You can read it, but others cannot read it.
Your purchased Digital Content will be stored in, or accessible from, your NOOK Library on Barnes & Noble.com. You can access your NOOK Library by signing into your Barnes & Noble.com account. You may also transfer the Digital Content from your NOOK Library to other electronic devices that you own based on the type (see below). You may not transfer the Digital Content from one electronic reading device to another without maintaining the applicable digital rights management solution for that Digital Content. You may not bypass, modify, defeat or circumvent any of the security features, special rules or other applications that protect the Digital Content.
