Purchases are stored in your NOOK Cloud™ and can be read on any NOOK device that is registered to your BN.com account. You can also read eBooks by using the Barnes & Noble NOOK App on iOS and Android devices or on BN.com using NOOK for Web.
To buy an eBook on bn.com, find the book of your choice by browsing our curated lists and categories or by searching a specific title/author/subject in the Search bar at the top of the page. Once you find a book you want, go to the product page, make sure the eBook format is selected, and click "Add to Cart".
A notification appears confirming that the title was added to your Shopping Cart. Click "View Shopping Cart" to begin checkout, or click “Continue Shopping” to search for other titles you want to purchase. You can check out at any time by clicking on the Shopping Cart in the top right corner of the page.
When you check out, sign in to the BN.com account that is registered to your NOOK Device/App. If you purchase eBooks with a different account than what is registered to your NOOK Device/App, the titles will not appear in your Library.
Go through the checkout process and click "Submit Order" when you are ready to complete your purchase. Your order number will appear, and the eBook is now available in the NOOK Library of the account with which you made the purchase.
If you have enabled the Instant Purchase option on your BN.com account, you can also checkout using the "Instant Purchase" link. Since you have a default credit card stored on your BN.com account, clicking on "Instant Purchase" will immediately complete your order. Your new eBook will be waiting for you in your NOOK Library.
Earning Stamps on Digital Content Purchases
Premium and Rewards Members earn stamps on purchases of eBooks, audiobooks not purchased with a subscription credit, and single-issue magazines/newspapers. Every 10 stamps earned can be redeemed for $5 rewards.
For purchases on bn.com, stamps are earned for every $10 increment spent. Purchases made in the NOOK Shop are aggregated over a 24 hour period from 3:00AM-2:59AM Eastern Time, and stamps are issued for every $10 spent on digital content in that 24 hour period.
B&N Audiobook subscriptions and digital newsstand subscriptions are not eligible to contribute to the total purchase amount considered for stamp issuance.
Purchasing NOOK Content for Barnes & Noble NOOK App
The Barnes & Noble NOOK App does not have a Shop feature to purchase content directly through the app.
To purchase new books for the Barnes & Noble NOOK App for both iOS and Android, visit BN.com in your device's web browser (Safari/Chrome or other) or on a desktop/laptop computer. eBooks purchased on BN.com will automatically sync to your NOOK Library.
In addition to books, you can also start free 14-day trials of popular magazines and newspapers, and purchase B&N Audiobooks, all of which are accessible using the Barnes & Noble NOOK App.
You can browse the Bookstore on your NOOK App and, if you find a title you want to buy, add it to your Wish List. Picks added to your Wishlist on NOOK Apps and Devices seamlessly carry over to BN.com for you to purchase later.
If you are using a device purchased outside of the United States, you may be able to configure the Region and Country of the device to access the US App Store, which will allow you to download the NOOK App.
