1. Access the Apple App Store on the iOS device that you want to perform the update on.
2. In the App Store, perform a search for "NOOK", and then select the Barnes & Noble NOOK app from the results.
3. If there is an app software update available for your device, there will be an "Update" button at the top of the page. Tap the Update button.
4. This opens a new window for you to accept Apple's Terms and Conditions to update the app. Tap "Accept" to proceed when you are ready.
5. Tapping Accept prompts the update to begin downloading. Once the download has finished the app update will automatically install.
6. After the installation has completed, the app has been updated successfully.

- Open the Google Play store on your device and search NOOK in the search bar
- On the results page, locate the Barnes & Noble NOOK app
- If an update is available, an Update button will appear next to the app icon and name
- Tap Update to install the updated app
Once the update is complete, the Update button will change to say Open, which you can tap to launch the app.
