In May 2026, we performed significant updates to the Barnes & Noble website. As a result of these updates, your previously saved payment methods and billing addresses were removed from your account. The first time you place an order on bn.com, you will have to re-enter that information, but it will be saved for future purchases after your first order.
To add or update the payment options stored on your bn.com account:
- Click here to access your bn.com account.
- In the left column, click Payment Methods to access your Profile page.
Please note: Any changes made to your bn.com account payment information will only affect future orders; past orders and orders-in-progress will be unchanged.
To manage your Payment Methods:
- Click the +Add button in the Payment Methods section to add a new card
- Please note that adding a new payment method does not automatically set it as your default payment method for future purchases.
- Click the card image in the Payment Methods section to update the card information, including change the selection to set as the Default payment.
Note: For purchases where a gift card is applied as a payment method, your credit card will be charged only if the gift card balance is insufficient to cover the entire purchase. For instructions on how to add gift cards to your bn.com account, click here.
If any changes are made to your existing payment methods, be sure to click the "Save" button to finalize your updates.
Please note: If you make any changes to your account or payment options, we will send an email confirming that changes were made to your bn.com account.
Paying with PayPal
We have temporarily removed PayPal from bn.com. We are working to restore this option soon. We appreciate your patience and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
