Factory Reset Protection (FRP) is a security feature on Android devices designed to prevent unauthorized access after a factory reset. After a device with FRP has been through a factory reset, the user will be prompted to enter the password for the Google account that the device was linked to before the reset. You will not be able to proceed with setting up the device if you do not enter the password.
This feature is available on our Lenovo 9” and 10” devices.
Enabling Factory Reset Protection
FRP is enabled by logging into a Google Account either during the initial device set up, or after setup via the system settings or a Google app.
Disabling Factory Reset Protection
Before factory resetting the device, the Google Account must be unlinked from the device.
This can be done by going to Settings > Passwords & accounts > Remove all Google accounts that have been added to the device
If this is not done before the factory reset is completed, you will need to enter their Google password for the device to be registered again.
