Factory reset
A factory reset will erase all data from your device’s internal storage. Please back up all important data, such as personal files like pictures, images, and sideloaded content, on the device before resetting your device.
IMPORTANT: You must sign in to the same Google account if the device had been registered to this Google account. This is due to Google Factory Reset Protection, which prevents others from activating your device if it's ever lost or stolen.
1. Go to Settings > System > Reset options > Erase all data (factory reset).
2. Tap Erase all data to reset the manufacturer’s default settings.
You can also perform a factory reset using Recovery Mode:
- Press and hold the Power button and select Power off
- Press and hold the Volume up, Volume down, and Power buttons simultaneously
- Release the Power button when the device vibrates and Lenovo logo appears
- You should now enter a recovery mode menu
- Use the Volume buttons to scroll down and select Wipe data/factory reset
- Confirm using the Power button
- Once data wipe is complete in white text at bottom
- Select Reboot System Now from menu using the power button
Force shutdown
Press and hold the Power and Volume down buttons for about 8 seconds until the device turns off.
