When you buy a book, magazine, newspaper, catalog or app from a NOOK device, it begins downloading to your library automatically and immediately, as long as there is an active Wi-Fi connection.
If you are using the Barnes & Noble NOOK App on a mobile device that has access to cellular data (4G/5G), you have the option to allow the app to download new content without Wi-Fi by using that data connection. To toggle this option on or off:
- Open the Barnes & Noble NOOK App and tap Account in the lower right corner
- Tap Download & Storage
- Tap the selector next to Using Cellular Data under each content type that you want to be automatically downloaded over data
- Depending on the data plan you have set up with your carrier, this may incur charges or fees. Refer to your cellular plan for more information about data usage and rates.
