What’s Happening?
Barnes & Noble is launching two new Barnes & Noble Membership options which replace our existing Membership: Premium Membership and B&N Rewards. With the introduction of the new Membership options, we will no longer maintain a separate Educator program. Over the next few months, the Educator program will be coming to an end in stores as each store goes live with Premium Membership and B&N Rewards and ending online at the close of business on April 12, 2023.
Discounts for classroom purchases are being consolidated with our existing institutional and bulk purchasing options, including the Institutional Discount program, &Classwork and volume discounts, depending on which best suits each customer’s needs. By working through our stores and Business Development Managers for classroom purchasing we can help educators get the best value on the items you need for your classroom or school.
If you are a member of the B&N Educator program shopping in a store where Premium Membership and B&N Rewards has not yet launched, you will continue to receive the Educator discount. The Educator discount will continue on BN.com for those with a linked Educator account through April 12, 2023.
Premium Membership Offer for Educators
With the launch of our new Membership options, we are offering members of the Educator program one year of Premium Membership for free.
With Premium Membership, a $39.99 per year value, Members receive 10% off almost everything in our stores and on bn.com.* Additional benefits include free shipping, free upgrades to the next size beverage in our Cafés, a free beautifully crafted tote every year, birthday offers for you and your children and other exclusive offers. Premium Membership also includes B&N Rewards. With B&N Rewards, you earn one stamp for every $10 you spend in a purchase* and receive a $5 reward to spend at Barnes & Noble for every 10 stamps you collect.
Educators who were actively enrolled in the Educator program as of February 22, 2023 or who expired within 90 days prior to that date are eligible to receive the free year of Premium Membership.
To claim the free year, just bring your B&N Educator card to your local Barnes & Noble store any time between April 13, 2023 and October 31, 2023 and a bookseller will assist you.**
Online redemption of this offer will be available starting April 13, 2023 for select Educators who have linked their Educator account to a bn.com profile and who are not also Barnes & Noble Members.
If you are an Educator with an existing Membership, you can still redeem the free year in a store. Your Membership will be upgraded to Premium, and the expiration date will be extended by one year from the current expiration.
&Classwork
&Classwork is a curated e-commerce website available for schools and administrators. Customers can browse and input all their order details directly into the site and receive eligible institutional or volume order pricing. Email bulkorders@bn.com for more information about &Classwork.
