Effective March 15, 2016, NOOK no longer sells digital content in the United Kingdom. The NOOK Store on NOOK devices sold in the UK, on the UK NOOK Reading App for Android, and at www.nook.com/gb ceased operation. However, the vast majority of your eBooks remained accessible.
On the same day, March 15, 2016, the ability to create a new NOOK account was removed. Existing NOOK accounts could still be registered or signed-in to NOOK devices and apps until May 31, 2016.
Then, on or before April 1, 2016, an email from NOOK was sent with a link to the Sainsbury's migration portal and special instructions on how to transfer your purchased eBooks to a new or existing Sainsbury's account.
To meet your digital reading needs going forward, NOOK partnered with award-winning Sainsbury's Entertainment On Demand to ensure that you had continued access to most of your purchased eBooks at no new cost to you. Further instructions on how to transfer your eBooks to a new or existing Sainsbury's account were sent to you by email on or before April 1, 2016.
Some of your eBooks may have been missing after you transferred your library to Sainsbury's Entertainment. This is because some eBooks were no longer available from the publisher. You were reimbursed with a voucher to the value of what you paid, which was valid for 90 days from the date they were sent.
Please note: In order to have continued access to downloaded eBooks, you needed to sign in on your NOOK device or app and remain signed-in BEFORE May 31, 2016. After May 31, 2016 users cannot sign in again onto their NOOK device.
NOOK Newsstand, and NOOK Apps
No NOOK Newsstand, or NOOK App content were transferred to Sainsbury's Entertainment. Newsstand and App content should have been downloaded to a NOOK Device or App before UK operations ceased.
In order to continue to have access to this content you must sign in on your NOOK device or app and remain signed-in BEFORE May 31, 2016. After May 31, 2016 the option to sign in is no longer be available on your NOOK device.
