If you encounter the error message Unable to Open Server when adding an e-mail account via the NOOK Email App, follow these steps:
- If Unable to Open Server appears when setting up your e-mail account (by entering your e-mail address and password and tapping Next), your device is unable to connect to your e-mail provider's servers and more information is required to access your e-mail. We suggest that you select Manual Setup to configure your account manually.
- When adding your e-mail account manually to the NOOK Email App, you will need to provide your inbound (POP3 or IMAP) and outbound (SMTP) server settings. This information is available directly from your e-mail provider.
- When contacting your e-mail provider, be sure to provide the name of the device you chose to view email. Your provider may not have specific settings to use on NOOK, however, many settings intended for Android devices should work.
